How it Works
The tablet computer screen displays a patient charting template, upon which the physician writes notes and completes the formatted encounter as easily
as writing in a chart. The physician's writing is saved to a secure database with the template image. At any time, and with the proper passwords, the
images are instantly available for viewing, printing, and archiving. Imagine the convenience of having access to patient charts 24 hours a day, whenever
and wherever necessary!
The latest version works with embedded Doc-U-Scrip Prescription Writer, allowing the user to either print new prescriptions
or send them electronically. Likewise, pharmacies can send their refill requests directly to the provider's Tablet PC. With
the patient's medical record literally in hand, the prescriber can respond instantly to refill requests. Prescriptions can be
saved, viewed, archived, printed, and searched. The user's favorite prescriptions are recalled easily and all prescriptions
for a patient can be recalled and refilled with the touch of a button. Prescription writing is safe, secure and HIPAA
compliant.
New with version 2.0 is the expansion of the macro system and the inclusion of text macros, which greatly enhance
legibility. Macros allow thorough completion of a template with just a few strokes, and ensure compliance with CMS and
CPT guidelines.
The new Tasking Interface allows tracking of preventive care items, physician referrals, follow up visits, lab testing,
ancillary test results and much more. Task lists are easily printed or viewed on the device. The use of the Task list
interface will help ensure that important patient follow up visits, consults, and testing are not forgotten.
A scanning utility is included that allows the physician to scan all other types of paper documents into the patient chart. The scanning utility
catalogues the images, and the program organizes the images and makes them available for viewing as part of the patient record. Integration of high
speed document scanning is on the horizon for users who desire to promptly convert their existing patient charts to digital images.
